today, i will just share with you three of my great ideas
first, the most important thing that you must do if you want to discourage your child from studying is to drill into them that education is useless
tell the child mai chia liao bee, quickly grow up, go and find some work and earn some money to feed themselves, they cannot depend on you for money for too long right?
help them see the big picture, ask them to look at the people in poor countries, they are all so clever, they start work so young, so useful to their family and the community.
second, you must tell them every now and then that they are stupid, in other words not clever.
use words like pen tan, da pen choo, chung, wu yao ke chew ...etc for anything that you see them doing.
initially they may resist or disagree with you, but from my years of experience, i can tell you that they will eventually succumb and really believe what you say.
slowly, you will see the results, their grades will drop and they will become more and more disinterested in studying.
be patient and your success will be at hand soon.
the two ideas that i have just shared with you are intended to undermine the child's believe system and self-confidence and esteem.
if they do not work, i have a third idea that have proven to work even for the most stubborn child who insist on studying, and that is to make it difficult for the child to study at home.
one thing that you can do is not to give him a study desk, ask him to use the small coffee table in front of the television to study.
if he already has a study desk, then don't give him any study lamp, that will also save your electricity bills.
whenever he is studying, turn on your radio and television loudly, better still, play his favorite songs or an exciting DVD movie on the TV.
if he has siblings, encourage them to disturb him so that he cannot concentrate.
the most potent means which you have direct control is to ask him to go and do household chores whenever you see him taking out his books to study.
